You are the inspiration for my smile
Our sleepover yesterday was fun. Stranded was kinda bad, and nowhere near as good as the original Swiss Family Robinson. And sadly Liam Cunningham had really stupid hair and wasn't really as fanciable as usual. Bonnie Wright was cute though. Amusingly, Fritz was played by Jesse Spencer who was Billy Kennedy in Neighbours. He put on a very posh voice. Speaking of voices, the mother had a really weird slow deep voice and it kept making us laugh. Lucy does a good impersonation of it, she'll have to make a phone post ;)

During a scene featuring a load of chickens, Lucy said "if you're going to breed chickens, do you need a cock?" and because I am immature I sniggered a lot and then later when we were taking photos, she said "say something to make me laugh!" and so I said cock and she laughed so hard she had to put the camera down. So that is why a lot of the photos are blurry!

Falling For a Dancer didn't turn up in time (in fact, it turned up this morning) so we decided to watch the Cardcaptors movie instead, only Lucy fell asleep during the opening credits. So we're going to watch Falling For A Dancer and Cardcaptors on Wednesday night instead.

My Photoshop free trial expired and now I am downloading Paint Shop Pro again. Maybe it's just because I'm more used to it, but PSP is so much better. It has so much more extra features. I especially missed the variety of pasting methods. Seems that while I've been off on the other side, Jasc has been bought by Corel and the new version is Paint Shop Pro X, so I hope it hasn't turned bad.

I know I've changed my mind a lot about what will be my first wearable knitting project, but I've finally settled on this. I started earlier but two inches in I realised that it had twisted somehow and I've had to start over. Really, I need tops loads more than I need skirts and things, but a skirt is easier to knit than tops because it doesn't have neckholes or sleeves.

My mum is going to lend me her sewing machine! I am really looking forward to it cuz I really want to make my own reusable menstrual pads. (And before you tell me that's disgusting, like Lucy did, let me tell you it won't be as disgusting as the rash that plastic disposable pads give me! Sorry for the TMI, but it had to be said.) Maybe I will also learn to sew clothes and stuff, depending how confident I get with the sewing machine. I'm thinking of doing a course in dress making, once I can afford to and if I can fit it around the job-I-haven't-got-yet.

That skirt is so cute! I'm so excited that Knitty has a new issue, even though I can't make anything yet. So far I've done nothing but the regular knit stitch, which gets kind of boring; I haven't even done stockinette yet so I think I'll have to find more yarn and start that just to practice.

Those pads actually look really neat. The plastic always sticks to me because they're quilted and I have to sit down for over an hour at a time in class, LOL. It looks like I'm picking a wedgie when I stand up!

I found sewing, especially on a machine, amazingly easy. My rents bought me a sewing machine and its so much fun! I saw a great improvement each time I sewed, you just seem to get better and better the more you practice. Its harder when you then start trying to make complex things, but simple bags are easy. So long as you always remember you need to turn the thing inside out when sewing,so the seems aren't showing - unless its designed like that!

Thankyou! I've only tried using a machine a couple of times, and my problem was always sewing in a straight line! it goes so fast that I just lose control. I'm kinda worried though cuz I know somebody that sewed through his fingernail and had to go to hospital, and I don't want that to happen to me XD

oh, and by the way, thanks for the mascara tip! tried it yesterday and it makes a lot of difference :D

You should try safe in the knowledge you won't be as bad as me. When we had to do textiles at school I somehow managed to sew my material to the machine...
